CERA 10th Anniversary Distinguished Member Award

We are delighted to announce Dr Yuwei Xu as the recipient of the CERA 10th Anniversary Distinguished Member Award. This award honours Dr Xu’s relentless dedication and the significant positive changes he has spearheaded within CERA and the wider education sector.

Dr Xu has not only contributed significantly to CERA’s substantive development and enhanced its influence but has also been a supportive force for colleagues, particularly early career researchers. His engagement with the wider academic community in various capacities.

Nominated by CERA members and selected through an anonymous vote by the Executive Committee, Dr Yuwei Xu is the deserving recipient of this award.

Yuwei Xu

Dr Yuwei Xu is an Associate Professor in Early Childhood Education at the University of Nottingham.

With a PhD in gender and early childhood studies gained from the University of Glasgow, Yuwei’s research interests include gender and men’s participation in early childhood education, children’s rights and child agency, early childhoold curriculum, child-centred pedagogy, parenting and family relationships, play-based pedagogy, and teacher professional development. He is co-editor-in-chief for Children & Society and Pedagogy, Culture and Society journals, and will become co-editor-in-chief for British Educational Research Journal from 2024.
