CERA 10th Anniversary Presentation Award

 

Webinar Presentation Award

We are delighted to announce Dr Adrian Yan and Yuxin Liu as the recipients of the CERA 10th Anniversary Webinar Presentation Award. The award recognises Dr Yan and Yuxin’s outstanding skills in effectively communicating academic content and interacting with the audience, as well as their role in enhancing the knowledge and capacity of the CERA community members.

As part of the 10th Anniversary celebrations, CERA organised a series of webinars from late 2022 to early 2023. This series featured 10 presentations covering a wide range of topics crucial for academic and professional development in the field of education. These topics included applying for PhD programmes, scholarship applications, teaching assistant roles, publication of academic papers, and finding academic positions in both the UK and China.

After reviewing all the presentations, Dr Adrian Yan and Yuxin Liu were selected by the Executive Committee as the deserving recipients of the award.

Adrian Yan

Dr Kin Cheung Adrian Yan is a Teaching Fellow at the School of Education, Communication and Society, King’s College London.

He obtained his PhD at UCL Institute of Education in 2023. His doctoral thesis explores education reform in Hong Kong, with a specific focus on the development of a secondary school subject called Liberal Studies. His research interests include comparative education, curriculum studies, citizenship education, and teacher professionalism.

Yuxin Liu

Yuxin Liu is a Doctoral Researcher and Postgraduate Teaching Assistant at UCL Institute of Education. She is also an Associate Tutor at the University of Warwick.

She is interested in teacher education, literacy education, phenomenography and qualitative research methods. Her doctoral project aims to investigate how YuWen (the official first language curriculum in China) teachers understand YuWen.
